we bought some Georgian panelling from you a couple of months ago and were very impressed with the service, quality and help we received.

We are now looking to use tongue and groove panelling in our bathroom - but living in a Georgian cottage nothing is simple! we wondered if you would be able to produce floor to ceiling panelling for our odd shaped walls one and two and standard 1200mm panels with dado for walls 3 and 4. we would like the 9mm thickness if possible. please could you let me know whether you can do the and the price. Hi Carol,

Ive finished the one side of the hall and it looks amazing.
Just sort ...can we have one length 180mm height - 61 mm wide.
Pic below shows shortfall - my error !!
Can i also order the other side of the hall.

It will need to be 7 panels plus another the one length so the sides match.

So that's 2 lengths 180mm - 61mm and 7 panels 180 mm by 49 as previous ...

Hi Carol

Thought you might like to see some interim pictures of our panels.

We have still yet to decide on the floor covering, and find a tradesman, hence the bottom skirting boards need to be affixed. We also need to decide on a wall colour to go with white panels. Please tell Martin that he was originally correct that I could not maintain the dado line above the radiator, hence my adaption!

Martin had better be prepared for some more trips to Guildford once my friends see the finished article – subject to lockdown!

Hi Carol,

Just a note to say thank you very much for the hard work Martin put into designing and fitting the panelling in my lounge.

The oak panelling is simply stunning, it has completely transformed the room, it looks extremely smart and sophisticated.

The attention to detail and personalised computer drawings Martin provided during the planning stages were much appreciated and enabled me to visualise clearly what I wanted before the work began.

Martin was able to mirror some of the carving designs on my furniture and integrate them into the design, something that worked really well.

Martin consulted me frequently on all matters, ensuring I was happy with the work as it was progressing.

As I was initially uncertain what colour I wanted for the staining, Martin provided many options and guided me towards choosing the perfect shade.

Good afternoon,

I hope this finds you well. Wishing you a very good 2019 first of all.

I would like to order architraves from you if you would be so kind as to ship to Paris.

You will see below that I bought panelling from you 7 years ago!!! And I am still as pleased with it as I was back then.

I am now looking to fit architraves around my windows and doors in a new project in Paris, which is underway and planned to complete by end of February.For me to place the order I would need to know the max lengths you are able to ship over the Channel. I will then be able to place the order in numbers of full lengths.

The look I am looking to replicate is in the picture I attached (from my old London home). Refer to the opening at the end of the kitchen.

I would be thrilled if you could confirm this.

Oh and be aware that I have changed career and am now an interior designer! How fitting. I have already referred you to some fellow designers who had no idea panelling could be pre-built and shipped in ready made panels.

Finally and because I am unsure I ever got to send you the pictures of the finished room in 2012, they are now attached.

HI Carol

Thank you for the break down of the price it was very clear and helpful also for providing images to help me decide. I will be happy to go ahead with the lobby panels that I measured to be 1’800 cm however, I have tried my very best to take the correct measurements I would prefer to have the measurements taken by a professional in order to have the right amount of panels. Please can you help me with this? I would prefer the full top to bottom panels including the skirting and added rail. I would like the panels to just be a nice white colour and I may gloss later. I do like the silky look if the panels come like this I would prefer this paneling.

The front lounge I am also happy with the ceiling price for the paneling but I will leave this for a later date as I will have this room decorated by the time the ceiling panels arrive within 30 days i wouldn’t want any mess as this room will be furnished.

I would like one of the professional joiners to carry out the work that yourself recommend.

Please advise so I can make arrangements for payments etc and place me order for production.

Firstly hope you are both well. You asked me Martin when my hall was finished to send you photographs. Well I just wanted to let you know that my hall is over half-way and looks amazing. Even the Decorators really like it!! Got the wallpaper which is white background and grey with slight glitter birds etc, it's lovely. Incidentally the Decorators said you'd made a really good job of the panelling Martin - I thought you'd like to know. Have been today to Sussex Carpets which is owned by very good friends of mine, and ordered a lovely silver grey carpet for up the stairs and landing, and white laminate flooring with a grey grain in it for the hallway, as there is quite a lot of traffic in and out of our house and carpet is just out the question - I'd be cleaning it every week! As soon as it's finished I promise to send photos. The carpet etc is due to be laid on 3rd August so it'll be anytime after that.

You might remember me from about 4 years ago.  I bought various lots of MDF panelling, skirting, architraves etc. from you for my house.  I am about to renovate a couple of rooms that I didn’t do the first time around.  They won’t have panelling, but I want to make the skirting and architraves match what I have elsewhere in the house.  So I’m looking for a price for supply and delivery of the following:-

 

1 x MDF Radiator Cabinet Lid.  The ones I have are 36mm thick, and I need one which is 975mm wide by 290mm deep (it’s for a storage heater so quite deep).  These sizes are the outer sizes (i.e. on the top).

10 lengths of MDF architrave – 25mm thick.

7 lengths if MDF skirting – 18/19mm thick (assuming 2400mm lengths – I think that’s right).

 

Is there any more information you need to give me a price?  I’m not sure if you have different sizes / profiles of architrave / skirting that you’ve used over the years.  I want to make sure it matches what I already have.  I’ve given you the thicknesses but let me know if you need any other dimensions to make sure it matches.

Hello The Wall Panelling Team!

 

Thank you for your reply. Apologies for my slight delay in responding, but I just wanted to exchange on the property before proceeding further (so as not to waste your time), which I have now done. 

 

In response to your question about height, the walls are 230 cms high, but there is also an enclosed staircase, which is higher than that.

 

In relation to the type of panelling, it would be floor to ceiling, along with cornice and skirting board. I attach below some pics from your website showing the two styles that would suit.

 

Also attached, the last pic below, is the kind of look I am trying to achieve (the grey and white walls).

 

I see that you have columns that can be added. Are you able to panel doors as well? Also, can you do decorative (i.e.fake) fireplaces?

 

I have actually used you before, so am familiar with your product (you were very nice to deal with).

 

I take possession of the property on the 30th March, and am wondering if it would be possible to have a consultation on Monday 4 April?

I bought a lot of your panels in 2011 and the result has been great. I did send pictures at the time from  West Sussex Bn11 2BQ.
I now need some exterior shutters for a fisherman's cottage cottage in Worthing (5pairs). Do you ever make anything like this from appropriately treated wood for external use? Also would you be able to do a nautical style of cut out to them.
I am asking you as there seems to be a gap in the market for these products and you were such a great company to deal with.

I 'fell in love' in those beautiful effect of panelled walls and now I would like to ask about advise in case of Bedroom Wall Panelling.
On your website I've seen couple of pictures which inspired me.
Wall we want to panelled is long 355 cm and high 230 cm - not more then 160 mm thick - we want to cover whole wall from floor to ceiling

Hi Martin, You may remember me as a previous customer as you have fitted panelling for me before in my apartment at Harrogate, also a bungalow in Bedale, and my daughter's house in Grewelthorpe. I am looking for a Bar and Back Bar in Mahogany for our living room. The back bar must have a central opening about 1000mm from the floor and 1000mm wide by 800mm high where there is a serving hatch. To each side of this I would like space for a couple of optics and shelves for glasses. The back bar to be no more than 200mm deep. The front bar would be in panelled Maghogany about 2000mm wide perhaps with curved front ends shelved behind with a granite top and a depth of about 450mm. Ideally this would be on hidden castors so that it could be pushed up to the back bar when not in use and be less intrusive. Can you help? Mike Kinsell  14032014

Dear Carole,

I have finally managed to scan the measurements for our panelling on the stairs project as discussed yesterday. We are really delighted with the panelling you made for us for the dining room, and would like to use the same style.  I will send you photos of this, but am hoping you also have a record of what you made for us. 

The questions are really around the existing skirting which is of 2 different heights and varying depths.  Most of it is 30mm deep and we would prefer to panel over the top as we did before in the dining room.  The dining room had very flat skirting, so we are not sure if we can do the same again over a 30mm depth? At the top of the stairs the old skirting changes to the newer one and there is a height difference.  It is all in the measurements, but I will also email you photos to show what I mean.

I look forward to hearing from you with an estimate for this project.

Well better late than never as they say.....and almost a year on I am pleased to say that my bathroom is complete and I have finally managed to take some photos and work out how to download them on to my computer!!!!

The wallpaper panels are deGournay chinoisserie , your lovely panels are painted in Crown kitchen and bathroom cupboard paint (which worked wonderfully) and the walls are painted in Farrow and Ball Yellow Ground.

Hi Again!

 

I am working on a new project and would like you to supply the wall panelling. Images attached, we will paint the panelling after fitting.

 

It’s a clients lounge and I want a very simple panelling mainly to keep the price competitive (not Georgian, the boxier, squarer style?) from dado height down. The tricky areas are:

a)  The Fireplace

b)  The square bay window

Can you advise how we would get around them. Also would we need to take off existing skirting & architrave and replace?

message:	Hi I love the way your panelling changes a room completely and would very much like to do 2 hall ways in my home, I have an old stone house. All the external walls have been left uncovered and the internal walls are plasterboard. I would like to cover just the plasterboard. With the half level Georgian designed panels with the flat toped standard dado rail and 6inch skirting. I do have skirting down at the moment but its popped off in most places so i will remove it completely I have done layout drawings as you have suggested with basic measurement hoping that this will be enough for you to give me a price, so i can work out costings. If you email me then i can attach the document. Basic room 1 317.5 cm X 181.5cm, 2 walls needed only Basic room 2 200.5cm X 657.5, 2 walls needed only I have horrid and inconsistent doors frames. Hello Carol   As per our conversation today I would like to order Georgian panels and previously I ordered the same panels for the hallway and stairs.   I have drawn a layout of my living room and  the panels I require have been annotated in red pen from letters A through to L.   The panels I require need to be of of height of 95.0cm and with the dado rail on top will be 97.0cm and this can be seen in photo P1010341.   Photo P1010345 diagram shows the living room layout.    Photo P1010343 and P1010340 show the left side of the front bay window and the panel will be and L shape cut.   Photo P1010339 shows the right side of the bay window and I have attached a drawing P101347 showing 2 options the last being the prefered option and it is intended that panels will be behind the radiator.   Onthe living room drawing the Panel D has a total length of 220cm however this wall has a small door to give access under the stairs P1010342 and in red pen the height with dado rail is annotated on the wall but the opening for the door is higher than the panel and dado rail. It is inteneded to try an make this a secret door in appearance and suggestions on how to proceed with that is appreciated.    I hope this provides the information you require and any questions I will be glad to answer   Kind Regards Michael. My suggestion is that these images are a bit more efficeintly catalogued and also in fullscreen view. Firstly, let me say you have an awsome selection of products!
 
Next, I am writing and not ringing because I am in Australia.
 
We are currrently building a Georgian influenced home and my wife has a heart set on using Georgian style wall panelling and wallpaper for the bathrooms and possibly throughout the rest of the home.
 
I have a couple of queries:
 
1) Can these panels be used in 'wet areas' such as bathrooms? Will they be mould and moisture resistant and not swell and buckle. We would not be spraying water directly onto them but they will be in potentially damp environment.
 
2) Are you able to manufacture and ship to Perth, Western Australia? Try as I may, I cannot find a local supplier for this product.

the cost as some of your photo's look very expensive, and I must admit I was
surprised as to how reasonable for a bespoke item this is, as this price is
not completely over our budget I think we would be interested in ordering, I

precise with my measurements, so that you can re-quote if necessary,

I am not sure how these panels come, I think we would be looking for a small
piece for wall facing bottom of stairs, long span to cover flat wall at top
and bottom and slanted stair span, and two small pieces for either side of
bathroom door on landing, I have attached a rough sort of plan in case this
is just waffle, also please can you give me some idea as to the delivery
time scale from placing the order ?

big windows  & i wonder if the smaller window might be better with perhaps

Thank you, Carol.  Basically,  I'm looking for a matte finish (to tie in with walls which are in matte emulsion).  The sitting room, where most of the panelling is going, is low traffic so I would probably get away with emulsion.  One wall is also being done in the dining room which is "busier" so I might do a satinwood.  As and when I get round to doing the hall I'll probably use acrylic paint for durability.  Does all this sound about right?  I've only recently had my dining and sitting rooms decorated so I will stick to the same colours, a Dulux custom mix.  Would I still go for an acrylic primer under emulsion?
Away for the weekend tomorrow so want to get paint today from Homebase as they've got 20% off.
Got the receipt this morning.  Thank you.  I appreciate the presentation touch.  Excellent stuff.  Looking forward to seeing the finished result with the panelling.

I have had a word with the designer and the panels have started to be made but he can rearrange the design so that the maximum height is just 1400mm  high  and a maximum width of 850mm

There will be 4 parcels of this size and then one parcel of skirtings

( 25mm deep)  We will cut them down to 1200mm in length and a width of 500mm

You should be fine with these sizes especially if you book today, to get it under £100.00  for a collection  from us on Thursday

I have in the passed used parcel2go

It will still look the same as the design  layout  Just when it is being fitted together there will be a few more slots together

Hi Carol   Great to speak with you earlier and many thanks for all your helpful advice.   I have cc'd our developers into this message so they can provide you with the details we require.   As discussed the MDF panels which can be painted (as advised by yourself with acrylic undercoat and oil based paint) would be ideal in the bathroom we are currently refurbishing.  We would require these both on the walls and also as part of the detail for a bespoke double sink cabinet unit.   Ideally, we would like the width of each section to be approx 50mm and I will ask Richard from Nest Egg to reply with the height required.    We note that the panels are £25 per sqm and are 1.25 high and 1 metre long.  This prices includes vat and delivery, which is usually within 3-5 working days.   We also note that they need to be fixed with grit filled adhesive to the wall.   As requested, our home postcode is LS24 9RP.   Kind Regards

I am attaching two photos, one shows the fireplace with the tiles that we would like to cover. It would basically be one sheet to cover the tiles, and the fire opening, as the chimney will not be used and instead a wall hung electric fire will be secured to the sheet.

The second photo, which gave us the idea, was taken in the bar at the new "W" hotel in Leicester Square, London !! I'm afraid the picture, taken on a Blackberry doesn't show the true colour. It is a light gold colour in a type of brushed satin finish which is one long sheet, flexible as the bar is curved, and very thin and obviously light as it must be attached with adhesive.

I hope Carol this gives you some idea what we are after !!

of recessed 'Wainscot panelling'? - I've attached some screenshots to show

If you do think you can get these shots for us, when you take them could you
make it so that they are flat-on to the wall, rather than at an angle, so
that when it's on the page the lines of the cladding are square? That would
be really helpful.

We also need something called 'Flat wood veneer' panels, but I'm not
entirely sure how these are supposed to look.

Hi Shona   yes the 18 mm oak/oak veneer is made up as follows   1. framework of 12mm oak faced mdf   2. Then a 6mm mdf oak/oak veneer back   3. A little breathing space is always good.

If you paint with a good acrylic primer (dulux wood primer) it doesn't soak in as much..

You can this before they are installed

And then a couple of top coats.

Hi Carol,

We had to change the date of the reveal shoot in the end as the bathroom fitters needed more time doing the plumbing.  So they haven't fitted the wall panels just yet.  The new reveal date is going to be on the 12th September now so I'll let you know when they will be fitting it.  Should be this week at some point.

How many coats of paint do you think it will need, we are painting it with an off white acrylic egg shell.

Panelling is an increasingly popular idea for adding character to a home and it can also hide a multitude of sins such as uneven walls. Wall Panelling (0800 781 0554, panelmaster.co.uk), offers panelling in different thicknesses and designs to cover every budget; for a project where you intend to paint the panels, the company recommends its 18mm thick highest grade Finsa MDF, which is made predominantly of Portuguese pine. The company offers detailed instructions on how to measure your room yourself, and also asks that you send in photographs of the room. The design and layout of your panels is then worked out using a specialised software programme. Wall Panelling does not offer an installation service, but its panels have been designed and patented so that DIY customers (or your local joiner) will be able to install them. Hello Carol,
Now that I have virtually finished the room that we bought your wood panelling for I will take a photo and send to you.  It is looking v. good.  I am trying to locate a nice radiator shelf and I know I saw them on a web site where I had bought something but now can't find it!  Do you do them or can you recommend a company?  I don't want radiator cabinets.

Hello Carol and Martin,

 

I would like to write to express my sincerest apologies and upset that we were unable to use your beautiful panels for our latest programme. Sadly we had everything against us, the weather was truly atrocious and I hope I never have to build a house in minus 17 degrees again! Many of the local trades were unable to assist as they were snowed-in and in all it was fairly disastrous. We had no choice but to complete the work at the time the best we could as the contributor's husband is very poorly and has very little time left. 

I sadly had to let most of my design features go out of the window but I was particularly upset at losing the panelling.

 

You are always such a complete joy to work with, always reliable, and of all our suppliers I am most upset that it was your beautiful products we were unable to use this time. If there is anything I can do to make up to you and your team please do not hesitate to ask.

 

The Aberystwyth show was my last for the time being for DIYSOS. The BBC have decided that they want to use 'guest designers' for the ongoing series so I will only be called upon for a couple of programmes a year now. Whilst I am sad to leave the boys, this does give me the opportunity to pursue other work and programmes and I will keep you posted if I move on to a different show where I can promote you.

 

In the meantime, I am running seminars and hosting a 'Julia Kendells Interiors Pavilion' at the National Home Improvement Show (improveyourhomeshow) this coming October. I will be showcasing my favourite suppliers and latest design ideas. I would be delighted if you would look at potentially working with me for this as last year's show was tremendously successful and I think your Company would garner huge business from it. If interested I'll send you over some more information.

 

Once again, I cannot apologise enough and please send my very best to your team who worked so hard to get the panels made on time.
